Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the methods and conditions for testing copper-zinc-aluminum (CuO/ZnO/Al2O3) catalysts used in carbon monoxide conversion processes. Literature sources concerning the conditions for conducting these processes and methods for evaluating catalytic activity are analyzed. The analysis showed that there are significant differences in the approaches to conducting experiments. Different research groups conduct studies with significantly different param-

eters: catalyst reduction conditions, composition of reaction gas mixtures, process temperature, etc. The paper presents some options for determining activity and the corresponding test conditions. It is shown that there is currently no single methodology for evaluating the activity and selectivity of cata-lysts. Based on an analysis of industrial process conditions and literature data, parameters for labora-tory testing of the catalytic activity of a low-temperature catalyst in the conversion of carbon monoxide with water vapour are proposed, which may contribute to the standardization of testing methods.
