Abstract

The article studies the grinding of quartz sand in a multi-stage mill of shock-reflective action. It is proved that due to the wave nature of deformations in particles, the dynamic stresses arising in the particle after the first impact are summed up with the stresses of subsequent impacts. Using the proposed equations and the dependence of the critical impact velocity on the size and strength of the particles, it is possible to predict the degree of grinding and particle size distribution of grinding products obtained in mills of the shock-reflective principle of action.
